The Cabrillo College softball squad won its tenth game in a row with a 4-3 victory over Mendocino College on April 3.
While the Seahawks started slowly, winning four of their first nine games, they are now 20-8.
The team boasts an on-base percentage of .358 with Dillyn Vasconcellos leading her team with a .398 batting average and .513 slugging average.
“It was difficult to get quality practices early because of the weather,” head coach Kristy Rosinger said. “Once we got our defense together, all aspects of the game followed.”
The Seahawks’ two most recent games, a doubleheader at Mendocino, extended their winning streak and the team’s confidence with 10 games remaining until playoffs.
“Going on the road is always tough,” Rosinger said. “We struggled but the girls rallied together. I feel like we could beat anybody.”
Cabrillo will play a home doubleheader at 10 a.m. Monday against Siskiyous.
