Here we are, all of us in the throes of the Coronavirus “…right here in River City,” and in fact, “…we’re not in Kansas anymore.” It’s everywhere now and has crossed age groups beyond seniors who are vulnerable. In California, according to national news reports will see a 56% infection rate. That’s you and me, up for grabs as body hosts to this virus.
According to microbiology, a virus is “an infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host.”
We must take care of ourselves. This will change everything from now on. This is serious. We didn’t have a clue as average citizens. This will be a major disruption financially for our country, the world, and for most of us personally. This will change the way Americans live and the way we interact with each other on a personal level. This will affect culture, art, personal relationships, travel, housing, banking, education, healthcare, the work place and the availability of work, the rule of law, and most of all, the availability of toilet paper…
It actually took me no less than eight attempts to locate any available toilet paper on the shelves of several stores I visited this past week. Only today, was I able to secure 2 rolls of TP (the limit) after receiving a hot tip from the cashier at a different store where it was rumored available. Who knew this would become an issue? Beware of hoarders, they appear to be plentiful. And worse, this could be in our future for some time to come. Good luck to you.
Welcome to life in the time of Coronavirus.
