Cabrillo holds virtual graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020

Last updated on August 5, 2020

In a first-time-ever event, Cabrillo’s Class of 2020 marked their graduation by watching commencement proceedings on web browsers and smartphone apps as the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of yet another major public gathering.

Students and their families and friends visited the Cabrillo College website on Friday, May 22 at 4 pm to find a link to the event.

The ceremonies included a welcome from Sue Gochis, the Vice President of Student Services and congratulatory speeches from Cabrillo President Dr. Matt Wetstein, Board President Leticia Mendoza, and Faculty Senate President Dr. Robin McFarland.

Other speakers included Student Body President Ana Lopez, CCEU Vice President Jessica Carroll, and Student Trustee Madison Raasch.

The virtual ceremony will be available to watch through Sunday, May 31, 2020. The 2020 Commencement Program can be found online here.
